Celebrating Life's Moments
Diamond Harbour artist, Kira Alexandrova presents a solo exhibition of skilful paintings in acrylic, watercolour, and oil through which she seeks to transmit the feelings of recent “joyous events” in her life. While the work and the emotions are fresh, Alexandrova has sourced vintage frames for the work on show. “I have a deep appreciation for objects with history,” says Alexandrova. “Many of the pieces were conceived with a specific framework in mind, creating a seamless integration between art and its antique counterparts.”
Kira Alexandrova was born in Russia, where she graduated after four years with a degree in Art. She also has a Diploma in Design and Technology. After moving to Diamond Harbour five years ago, she became re-immersed in her art practice, working predominantly in watercolour, actively embracing the spontaneity and unpredictability of the medium. She is a member of the Stoddart Cottage Artisans and Watercolour New Zealand.
